Prisoner Justice Day, August 2020
On August 10th, 2020, CAEFS, in partnership with the P4W Memorial Collective, hosted a film screening and panel discussion with women with lived experience of incarceration.
The film “The Garden Collective” (Sarah Wylie) which follows the P4W Memorial Collective as they work to build a memorial garden on the grounds of the former prison in Kingston, Ontario. The panel discussion featured Sarah Tessier, Rashida Samji, and Ann Hansen who spoke about their perspectives on Prisoner Justice Day. CAEFS was one of many organizations, collectives, and individuals organizing events and vigils to mark Prisoners’ Justice Day.
